Pumpkin, Apple, and Autumn

We are still a few weeks away from the Autumnal Equinox, but the cottonwood leaves are already beginning their transition to yellow, and we are already baking with lots of pumpkin and apples! In a four season climate, our bellies seem to drive our desires – our tongues crave spice and warmth. Our pumpkin cakes and pies, and our apple cakes and pies, deliver both. Here’s a quick rundown:

Our Pumpkin Cakes are always vegan, but you can choose from both vegan frostings (vegan buttercream or cashew frosting) and classic frostings (our signature, rich buttercream). Made with pumpkin, organic sugar, and very dark maple syrup, our pumpkin cakes are packed full of natural sweetness. We also offer a gluten free version, which is delicate and delicious. Our Pumpkin Pies are always vegan, and always spiced just right; and they aren’t just for Thanksgiving!

Our Apple Ribbon Cake (dairy free, but contains eggs) is a sweet cake with three layers of sliced apples. You don’t even need a plate for this un-frosted cake, it’s great eaten out of the hand! Just keep your other hand free for a hot cup of coffee, and you’ll be set. Our Apple Pies are old school – piles of apples loaded into a vegan crust and topped with either a sweet oat crumble, or a decorative rolled out crust. We also add berries and orange zest to our Apple Berry Orange Pie. Megan LOVES pie; both eating and making. She is a master at rolling and pinching our flaky, vegan pie crusts.
